On Friday, December 20, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, Leader of the Cuban Revolution and President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez led a march in Havana against the 65-year-old U.S. blockade and the unfounded inclusion of Cuba on the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
Thousands of Cubans, full of unity and joy, filled the Malecón, passing by the U.S. Embassy with a clear message: End the genocide against Cuba! The march reflected the unwavering popular support of the Cuban people, who once again demonstrated their patriotic spirit and resilience.

Before the march, President Díaz-Canel said in a speech:
"This is going to be a march, yes, a very anti-imperialist march. Against US imperialism and its attempts to impose itself in Cuba by force or seduction, we will march now and always.”
“The current U.S. administration has maintained and intensified its hostile policies against Cuba, including the 243 measures implemented by Trump and the unjust inclusion of Cuba on the list of state sponsors of terrorism. This designation is false, immoral and hypocritical, especially coming from a country where paramilitary groups are openly organizing and training to carry out terrorist acts against Cuba with impunity.
The blockade and these coercive measures cause immense suffering to the Cuban people, depriving them of food, medicine and resources essential for survival and development. These actions are not only cruel, but criminal, as seen during the pandemic when Cuba was denied access to medical oxygen and other vital supplies.
Despite this, Cuba stands firm, unyielding in its defense of its sovereignty and socialism. Today's rally and march symbolize the resilience, patriotism and revolutionary conviction of the Cuban people, who reject any interference or imperialist aggression.
Cuba extends its hand of respect and friendship to the American people and to any U.S. administration willing to engage on equal terms. However, if hostility persists, Cuba will continue to resist with rebellion and dignity, outlasting any hostile administration.”
Alongside the people of Cuba, Rock Around the Blockade demands an end to the genocidal US blockade and the removal of Cuba from the US' list of state sponsors of terrorism.
