cuba angolaThe Cuban program of anti-vectorial struggle to control malaria and other diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, rats and mice continues in a satisfactory way in 18 Angolan provinces de Angola, asserted a health authority in Luanda on Friday.

“A marked reduction of mosquito populations has been confirmed, due to the outstanding performance of 145 Cuban voluntary workers and 1,600 Angolan brigadistas in 130 municipalities of the country, with some 20 million inhabitants,” declared the coordinator of the national plan, Yoenys Hidalgo, according to a report by the Prensa Latina news agency.
   
He pointed out that the project, which began on January 23, 2009, is applied in coordination with the Health Ministry of Angola and the National Program against Malaria.
